Lua Hadar is a CA Credentialed Teacher (K-8 and Secondary English) with a B.A. in Theatre and an M.A. in Education.

She has been recognized by the United States Congress and by the California Legislature and has presented at conferences, including the Haki International Children’s Art Festival in Fukuoka, Japan, and the Music Teachers Association of California.

A Teaching Artist with San Francisco Opera Education and also at her own Studio NPG, Lua Hadar has instructed in world jazz standards, musical theatre, opera, cabaret, and French chanson. She speaks and can teach in four languages.

In 2010, Lua taught a bilingual Master Class for Singers on the Great American Songbook in Lille, France in conjunction with her cultural exchange appearance in concert under the direction of bassist and composer Albin Suffys. She returned to Lille in 2015 to teach a two-day master class on American Jazz Standards in collaboration with American pianist-teacher David Austin and Albin Suffys.

In collaboration with jazz vocalist and teacher Daria, Lua has taught Performance Skills Workshop for Singers and Songwriters in the San Francisco Bay Area for several years, and served as a judge for West Coast Songwriters Association.

In collaboration with vocalist Linda Kosut, pianist/vocalist Barry Lloyd, and pianist Jason Martineau, Lua taught classes in Cabaret Performance at her own Studio NPG, producing and hosting many student performances at Thick House, The Purple Onion, and the Cirque Room at the Fairmont Hotel, launching many emerging performers into the music community.

Lua has served San Francisco with a seven-year stint on the Arts Providers Executive Committee and on the Advisory Committee of the San Francisco Unified School District Arts Master Plan.

Her work as a Studio Teacher with youth in the professional performing arts has brought her on to the sets of several movies and backstage for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child and the Tony award-winning A Christmas Carol, ballet and musicals such as Finding Neverland, Frozen, Miss Saigon, White Christmas, The Lion King, Les Miserables, Billy Elliot, Pippin, The Jungle, Showboat and Motown, as well as for operas such as Tosca, Carmen, La Bohème, The Cunning Little Vixen, Das Rheingold, Heart of a Soldier, Mefistofele, Falstaff, Madame Butterfly, Turandot, Billy Budd, Die Frau Ohne Schatten, Il Trovatore, and many more.
