Cultural Exchange Concert & Class - The No Borders Project: France
A mini-documentary about the Cultural Exchange between San Francisco-based world jazz vocalist Lua Hadar and producer-composer Candace Forest and Lille-France-based bassist-composer Albin Suffys, the January 2012: The final show of the long-running Regards to Broadway with music and theatre expert, the late Joe Marchi. Lua and Joe discuss Like A Bridge and the Bridges Project. organizations and the people that supported the cultural exchange, and the products of the exchange: A live concert with French and American musicians, a master class on the Great American Songbook, and the world premiere of a new musical piece. All live footage shot in May 2010, from the master class, a radio interview, and the concert in Lille and Lomme, France.

the bridges across the Seine river, musicians, philosophers, the churches and the city itself. San Francisco Bay Area theatre critic, TV & radio personality and professor Joe Marchi interviews Lua Hadar prior to the debut of her new show, "French Connection," with her band TWIST. They discuss Lua's lifelong fascination with world cultures and how this has influenced the development of TWIST, and their "jazz without borders" style. Marchi quizzes Lua on her new show, her cultural exchange experiences in Russia, Thailand, Bali, Italy and France, on her childhood and on her latest CD, Lua Hadar with TWIST. These excerpts from the original half hour show,
taped in September 2009, are presented with permission from Pacifica Community Television, Pacifica, CA.

Lua Hadar with TWIST, debuted a new show, "French Connection" at one of San Francisco's top nightclubs, The Rrazz Room at the Hotel Nikko. Just the weekend before, San Francisco's BAY BRIDGE had been closed for the entire weekend for repairs. Vocalist Lua Hadar with TWIST entertained the sold-out audience with Rita Abrams' comic song, The Golden Gate Bridge, with a few French accents,
